I work and live in London and the Algarve and have thoroughly enjoyed my Art classes with Barbara-Jane and meeting everyone. I love The Algarve’s natural landscape and felt drawn to paint it after enjoying cliff walks and seeing the pine trees with their beautiful structure. I’m using acrylic for the first time and it’s been a great journey over the year exploring this medium.
"Standing Proud. "
While walking along the cliff path behind the new W Hotel in Galé beach, we turned the corner to see these beautiful pine trees standing proud against such a still and calm sea. I took lots of photos and chose this one to paint.

"The Metamorphosis of a Bird of Paradise"
While sitting in the garden I noticed the Bird of Paradise shining bright against the shadows from our palm tree, showing the 3 stages of the flower's life on one plant. Had to paint it!
