Margaret de Araujo
I always wanted to draw and paint. Unfortunately life seemed to always get in the way. When I was 10 years old I won first prize in an art contest for the province of Ontario in Canada, going against all the elementary schools. I had an art teacher that was so inspiring but then we moved out west I didn’t have the same calibre of teaching and gave up on art. Over the years I have tried to get back into it but it’s been a slow process. Look forward to improving my skills. I have now been trying Acrylics in Barbara Jane's classes which I have enjoyed and hope to resume in the future

"Light House Park"
One of my first acrylic paintings painted in the 1980’s. A special memory sitting at Light House Park in Vancouver Canada dreaming of sailing the world which became a reality for me. I now look at the painting and see what I would change and improve. I had it framed and gave it to my parents as an anniversary gift back then.

"The Onion"
This was a class project in my water color art class in 2009. I quickly learned that water color is a challenging medium. We starred at this onion and learned how to make it look real.
