I have been painting now for some 5 years, it has really helped me to relax and I enjoy it so much. Prior to picking up a paintbrush again the last time I did anything like that was when I was at school, where I spent most of my free time in the art room. I am so glad to have found this again and my favourite mediums are acrylics and pastels.

"Arnie "

This is my dog Arnie. He inspired me to paint him one day when he was watching me have a cup of coffee and a biscuit. Guess what he wanted some of my biscuit, so this is Arnie with his biscuit ears!

"Sunset at Praia Almargem, Quarteira"

One summer evening whilst having a drink at my favourite beach bar I was lucky to witness this beautiful sunset. Everything glowed a dusky red/orange in the fading light and there on the sea shore was a lone fisherman. Sunsets and beaches are my favourite subject and I couldn't resist the opportunity to paint this restful end of a hot summers day scene.

"Casa Tipicas  de    Santana Madeira"

Santana is a municipality on the north coast of the Portuguese island of Madeira. It’s known for its Casas Típicas de Santana, traditional stone houses with steep, triangular-shaped thatched roofs. On a visit to this beautiful island I saw the best example of one of these houses. The owner of the house will show you round and she sits outside her house on a very elaborate chair, which I had to incorporate into the picture. These houses are very twee and very pretty
